Obituary for Yelena Kostyszyn (Kovalenko)
KOSTYSZYN, Yelena (Kovalenko), 51, of North Haledon, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on September 15, 2021. Yelena was born in Khabarovsk, Russia to Vyachaslav and Vera Kovalenko, and came to the United States approximately 20 years ago. She settled with her family in North Arlington before moving to North Haledon in 2010. Yelena attended high school and college in Russia. Her most recent position was held at Ideal Jacobs Corp. in Maplewood, NJ as an order entry clerk. Yelena was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for her family. She also enjoyed making many projects with needlework and knitting.
Yelena was the devoted wife for 15 years of Michael Kostyszyn. Beloved mother of Irina Denisova. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Anton and Andre Kovalenko.
The Kostyszyn family will receive family and friends on Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 2 – 4:30 PM at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. Funeral service to follow at 4:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Yelena’s memory to any Cancer Research organization of your choosing.
