THOMASSEN, Walter, 73 on December 24 of Fair Lawn. Born in Brooklyn New York, Walter moved to Fair Lawn when he was 6 years old and lived the remainder of his life there. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea. Walter worked for several property management companies during his career and retired from GVA Williams located in New York in 2010. He was a member of the Abundant Life Reformed Church of Wyckoff NJ.

Beloved husband of Nancy (nee Thiessen) Thomassen for 49 years. Devoted father of Tammy Cristella and her husband Charles of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey and Todd Thomassen and his wife Amber of Miami Florida. Loving grandfather to Chase, Caroline and Carson Cristella and Connor and Brody Thomassen.

The family will receive their friends at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road Franklin Lakes, NJ on Thursday from 10AM – 12PM. A service will follow at the funeral home at Noon. Interment Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
