Obituary for V. Bernard Ziccardi
ZICCARDI, V. Bernard (Bernie) age 82, a Ringwood resident for 57 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Raymond and Jean (Candelora) Ziccardi. Bernie graduated from Academy of Aeronautical Engineering, Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Engineering and Rutgers University with a Master’s degree. For over 60 years, Bernie was a sales engineer, account manager and mentor at Saddle Brook Controls where he was still employed at the time of his passing.
Bernie married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Renate (Steur) and they cherished 62 years of a loving marriage together. He was the loving father of Dr. Vincent B. Ziccardi and his wife Nicea, Deborah A. Glynn and her husband Ted, and Denise L. Gemore and the devoted grandfather of Guy William Gemore, Joseph Gemore, and Kady Glynn. Bernie is also survived by his sister Carol Kurtz and her husband Art, and his nephew Anthony Morelli. He also leaves his faithful fur grandbabies, Tilly, Dolce, and Bella.
Bernie’s hobbies included target shooting at the Hawthorne Target Pistol Gun Club, motorcycle riding, skiing, dining out and vacationing. He was also an avid garage sale and flea market entrepreneur and collector.
Family and friends may visit the Ziccardi family on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 4-8 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 11 AM at Maryrest Cemetery and Mausoleum, 770 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, NJ. Entombment to follow.
