Obituary for Sharon Rose Gordon

GORDON, Sharon Rose (Peters), age 67, of Wanaque, went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, October 29, 2022. She was born in Paterson, NJ to Anthony and Claire (Greydanus) Peters. Sharon attended Eastern Christian Schools and received her degree from Montclair State University. Sharon wrote many children’s books over the years, and enjoyed her work as an editor. She was a member of Pompton Plains Reformed Bible Church.

Loving mother of Douglas Gordon and his wife Melissa, Katie Kuperus and her husband James, and Laura Ferris and her husband Jared. Devoted sister to Kathy Norton, Steve Peters, the late Ted Peters and the late Toni Phillips. Sister-in-law of Carol Peters and Bev Peters, and the late George Phillips and Cliff Norton. Loving grandmother of nine grandchildren; Isabelle, Grace, Kevin, Hailey, Natalie, Charlie, Emelia, Sarah, and Nathan. She is survived by many nieces and nephews but, predeceased by Thomas Phillips. Sharon’s greatest passion was raising her precious children and grandchildren in the ways of the Lord, so that one day we may all meet again in Heaven. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends may visit the Gordon family on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 4 – 8 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 9 AM at the Pompton Plains Reformed Bible Church, 415 Boulevard, Pompton Plains, NJ. Interment to follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
