HAUSLER, Robert J., 95, on December 23, 2020 in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Raised in Hollis, NY, Bob lived in Malverne, NY for 30 years, relocated to Ramsey, NJ in 1998 and Franklin Lakes, NJ in 2008. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy R. Hausler for 54 years. Bob lived a full, energetic, and enthusiastic life. He often referred to himself as being “incredibly lucky” throughout the course of his lifetime. Among his favorite stories were the memories of his summers in Rockaway Point, NY as a youth and later with his family at Sun & Surf Beach Club in Atlantic Beach, NY. He took great pride in talking about the accomplishments of his five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Bob most enjoyed spending time with his sons, daughters in law (or as he said, daughters in heart), grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Upon his graduation from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1942, Bob joined the U.S. Navy in World War II and served from 1942-1945. Notably, Bob was a pilot and flew a plane before he ever drove a car. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Bob attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to study engineering, which led to a successful 50-year career in commercial lighting sales. He is survived by his two sons, Robert T. (Marybeth) Hausler of Franklin Lakes, NJ, and Douglas E. (Karen) Hausler of Chelmsford, MA. He was the loving Grandpa to Elisabeth (Sean) Bullock of Lake Mohawk, NJ, Meredith Hausler of Morristown, NJ, and Robert J. Hausler II, of Brooklyn, NY as well as Bradford D. and Gregory R. Hausler of Chelmsford, MA. He was the great grandfather of Luke and Callan Bullock of Lake Mohawk, NJ. Bob was the brother of the late Helen (Hausler) Coleman Wright of Naples, FL and an uncle to nieces Leslie Coleman of Houston, TX, Lauren McDonough of Portland, Oregon, Jamie Kennedy of Naples, FL, and Lorraine Maloney of Boonton, NJ, and nephew Michael Maloney of Boonton, NJ. Due to COVID-19, there will be no services.
