Obituary for Robert David Cerfolio, M.D.

Dr. Robert D. Cerfolio, a fifty-three-year resident of Franklin Lakes, NJ took his final breath on October 15th 2018.

Dedicated physician, loving father and doting husband born in Lancaster, PA youngest of four children and only son of the late Nina (nee Ceris) and David Cerfolio. Robert is preceded in death by his three adoring older sisters Dorothy (Lillian), Deloris, and Grace.

At the age of eighteen Robert voluntarily entered the navy and became a medic. It was then that he fell in love with medicine and spent the rest of his life healing others. Hardworking, honest and humble, Bob (or Buddy as his extended family called him) lived his life according to strong held moral beliefs and old-world values. Dignity, respect and honor was how he aligned his actions. He lived his life as a model of integrity, decency and exemplified love for both his family and patients. He was the epitome of an old-time physician, thought of his patients first, remembered the names of their spouses and children and often visited them in their home if the occasion called for it.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years LaVerne Cerfolio and their four children David and Debbie Cerfolio MSW, Dr. Nina Cerfolio and Mr. James Skelley, Dr. Robert Cerfolio and his three children Robby, Alec and Matthew, and youngest daughter Dr. LaVerne Cerfolio and her husband Timothy Butler.
