Brand, Richard Edward, 69, of Wayne, passed away on March 4, 2021. Born in Paterson on January 16, 1952 to Theodore and Doris (nee Lotz) Brand, he lived in Butler before moving to Wayne in 1997. Richard had many talents, but the one he enjoyed most, which became his career in life, was working with his hands, especially on trucks and tractors. He was the owner of Brand X-Cavating in Wayne, NJ. While Richard was in high school, his teacher commented that he was distracted and staring out the window at the excavators; he knew at this point that school was not for him, and he followed his dream and started his family excavating company. His family meant everything to him, and he enjoyed working with his sons in the family business.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Silvia (nee Peralta) Brand. He is also survived by his six sons, Brian and his wife Beverly, Richard and his wife Winona, Theodore and his wife Jessica, Timothy, Kenneth, and Daniel Brand. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren, Anna Rose, Jayden, and Ivy. He also leaves behind his sister Susan Brand. Richard was predeceased by his first wife, Antje (nee Vander Weit) Brand.

Friends and family may visit the Brand family on Sunday from 1-5 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral service on Monday at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
