LAMPE. Renate (Mueller), age 81, of North Haledon, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. She was born in Konstanz, Germany to Fritz and Thea Mueller. She came to the United States with her cousin in 1959 and moved to North Haledon in 1963 and has been a resident there ever since. Renate was predeceased by her loving husband Roy Lampe in 1999. Before her retirement, Renate was the deputy clerk of Passaic County. She was formerly the tax collector in Haledon and in North Haledon. Renate was the former mayor of North Haledon from 1990 – 1998, former council member in North Haledon from 1985-1987, was a member of the Board of Education in town and also the Republican Club of North Haledon. Renate was also a member of the Jaycetts of Haledon. Most importantly, Renate was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Renate will be remembered as the loving mother of Stewart Lampe and his wife Rena of North Haledon. Devoted grandmother of Sean and Nicholas. She also leaves behind her brother Helmut Mueller in Germany.

Friends and family may visit on Monday, March 21, 2022, from 4 – 8 PM at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral service to be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 10 AM at the funeral home.
