Obituary for Raymond Anthony Tahan

TAHAN, Raymond Anthony. – 86, of Toms River passed away on November 23, 2018. He was born in Paterson and previously lived in Franklin Lakes and Wayne before moving to Toms River 20 years ago. Raymond worked at Magnavox, was a draftsman with Curtis Wright in Woodridge and retired from John Deere in 1994. Raymond’s education consisted of St. Boniface R.C. Grade School, St John’s Cathedral High School, and William Paterson College. He was a devout Roman Catholic who attended St Ann’s Melkite Catholic Church in Woodland Park and St Paul’s RC Church in Prospect Park. Raymond had a beautiful tenor voice and was known for his singing and performing. He continued to perform after his retirement in his local community.

Beloved husband of Angela (nee Darata) of Toms River. Devoted father of Linda Petrie and her husband Ren and Mark Tahan and his wife Antoinette all from North Haledon. Loving grandfather of Ryan, Matthew and Mark Anthony. Dear brother of Juliette Shamah of Freehold, NJ and the late Emelie Agia and Antoinette Benjany. Son of the late George and Mary (nee Jeanbart) Tahan

The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday from 9:30-10:00 at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am at St Paul’s RC Church, 286 Haledon Ave, Prospect Park.

Interment at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
