Obituary for Raymond Scala
SCALA, Raymond A., 89 of Oakland, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Raymond was born in Passaic, NJ to Dominick and Marie (Legrotagglie) Scala. Raymond served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines from 1950-1954 during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Kathleen Smith, and together they shared many years of loving marriage together. They were blessed to raise 3 children together. Before his retirement, Raymond was the owner of New Jersey Rigging Co., in Little Ferry for 35 years.
Beloved husband of Kathleen (Smith) Scala of Oakland, loving father to Elizabeth Benducci and her husband Dan, and Hugh Scala. He was predeceased by his son Adam in 2018. Devoted grandfather to Arabella, Julianna, Talia, and Aidan.
Friends may visit the Scala family on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 1-3 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Raymond’s memory to Ponds Reformed Church Food Pantry, 341 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ 07436.
