Paul Mortola peacefully passed away on September 19, 2020. Paul was a kind, hard-working, generous, and loving man. He could always be depended upon to listen, to help, and to make you laugh. Paul was born on April 8, 1939 in his home on Cottage Street in Jersey City. He always liked to say that his mother, “Lovey,” washed the bedroom walls before his birth. Paul served in the Army and was the General’s Driver on Governor’s Island in New York City.

Paul worked at his company, Heritage Inc. with his much admired, executive assistant, Janet Caminiti. He was dedicated to all his customers and enjoyed not only selling products to them but also being their friend.

Paul had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved jokes and had the best laugh. He had beautiful, kind blue eyes to look out at the life he enjoyed so much. Paul enjoyed traveling with his wife, Patricia, celebrating holidays with his family, spending time at the Wyckoff Y with his many friends, going to the Franklin Lakes Library, and attending his grandchildren’s sports and shows. Paul was also very patriotic and loved his country. He appreciated every day of his long life.

Paul leaves behind his beloved wife of 37 years, Patricia, his four loving children, Kathleen Leone (John), Kristen Perry (Brian), Amanda Krakowiak (Robert), and Adam Mortola (Nicole), his sister Ronnie Meyer and his brother Joseph Mortola.

He also leaves behind his eight grandchildren whom he took much pride in, Julian, Camerin, Jordan, Blake, Alex, Olivia, Evan, and Camille. Paul was predeceased by his brother, Jack Mortola and his sister, Madeline Tomaszewski. He will be greatly missed.

My entire family was so sorry to hear about Paul's passing - but we know he is at peace and left so many wonderful memories with his family, friends and everyone he knew! We knew Paul for so many years from Pt. Pleasant Beach and remember tons of time at the pool and on the beach. We will miss you Paul and much love to Patty, Amanda, Rob, Alex, and Olivia. Love, Rebecca, David & Linda Blank
