Obituary for Oscar B. Olsen III

Predeceased by John David Olsen (Brother), Oscar B. Olsen Jr. (Father, and Catherine Olsen (Mother). The most important aspect of Oscar’s life was family. He is survived by his three children: Jennifer, Lindsay, John David, his former spouse and mother of his children Christine .His two daughters each gave him the gift of two beautiful grandchildren: Adam & Samantha. Additionally, his former spouse Holly and his beloved German shepherd, Ollie.
Oscar was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on 11/10/1948. He grew up in Teaneck, NJ then attended the University of Miami where he earned his MBA.
Oscar was a true entrepreneur and businessman. While in college, he started his financial planning career with Northwestern Mutual and earned the achievement of #1 College Agent in the country 3 years in a row along with becoming the youngest Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Roundtable.
Oscar loved to have a good time and had passions for golf, tennis, jai alai, boating, & selling. Closest to his heart, was spending time and creating memories with family. He taught his son the game of golf and always said golf is microcosm of life in many ways.
Oscar spent most of his life in New Jersey and Florida where he built beautiful homes for his family. After setting numerous records at Northwestern Mutual, he started his own business, becoming CEO of Olsen Agency in Teaneck, NJ.
Oscar loved life and enjoyed every moment. He truly believed your mind and thoughts allow you to achieve anything. He always told his kids fear is not real – it’s completely made up in your head, never to limit yourself with your thoughts and to write down / visualize goals daily. Additionally, Oscar imparted the values of gratitude, love, empathy, spirituality, and honesty to his family as being most important. Oscar was a loving, enterprising man, husband and father and impacted the lives of many.
