ZIMMER, Michael, age 88 of North Haledon, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, January 30, 2023. Michael was born in Fair Lawn to Michael and Anne (Kish) Zimmer. He grew up in Hawthorne, before moving to North Haledon in 1964. After graduating high school, Michael went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Navy. Before his retirement in 2000, Michael was a crane operator for Jenson Koerner Crane in Rockaway, NJ. He volunteered proudly for the North Haledon Fire Department since the early 1960s. Michael faithfully attended Rockpoint Community Church in North Haledon.

Beloved husband of 62 years to Virginia (Witten) Zimmer. Loving father to Lynn Veenstra and her husband Randy of North Haledon, and Michael Zimmer, Jr. and his wife Christine, also of North Haledon. Devoted grandfather to Zach Veenstra and his wife Jaclyn, Nick Veenstra, Alexa Veenstra, Chelsea Zimmer, and Morgan Miller and her husband Nick. Adoring great-grandfather to Cleo. He was predeceased by his sister Rose.

Family and friends may visit the Zimmer family on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 4-8 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral service to be held Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery.
