Obituary for Michael Wolfe

Michael Wolfe, 97, on August 27, 2021, of North Haledon, NJ. Michael was born in Elizabeth, NJ and had lived in Paterson before moving to North Haledon in 1951. Michael was in the Army Anti-Aircraft Cannoneer Automatic Weapon’s (AAA 630) and in the Military Police during WW II and served his country honorably. He was the owner of the North Haledon Fire Equipment and retired in 1986. He was a member of the North Haledon VFW and the American Legion and had often served as post commander. Michael was a parishioner of St. Paul’s RC Church in Prospect Park and volunteered as an usher.

Michael was the devoted husband of Betty Wolfe (King) for 73 years. Beloved father of Michael Wolfe and his wife Mina of Greenwood Lake, John Wolfe and his wife Dorothy of Hawthorne, and Thomas Wolfe and his wife Lynne of North Haledon. Loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers Peter Wolfe and his sisters Julia Wilson, Mary Kopp and Helen Revuelta.

The Wolfe family will receive family and friends on Wednesday at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ from 3-7 PM. Funeral mass at St. Paul’s RC Church, 286 Haledon Ave. Prospect Park on Thursday at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Michael Wolfe’s memory to the Paramus Veteran’s Home, VFW, Saint Paul’s Church in Prospect Park.
