Obituary

SCANLAN, Michael, 36, of North Haledon where he lived all his life, passed away suddenly on September 19, 2020. He was employed by Van’s Auto Body, and was an active member of Rockpoint Community Church, both of North Haledon. Never shy to share his faith, Michael touched so many lives during his lifetime.

Michael was the beloved son of Susan Sonnema. Dear brother of Jay Scanlan of Garfield. Loving stepbrother to Megan Gonzalez and Lauren Heffernan. He also leaves behind his father, John Scanlan from PA.

Michael enjoyed the sport of fishing and was often found with friends and family enjoying this time together. He was also a lover of music and dancing. He was the life of any party he was at and made everyone feel welcome when he met them.

The family will receive friends and family at Rockpoint Community Church, 400 North Haledon Avenue, North Haledon, on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Memorial service to follow immediately after at the church at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Michael Scanlan c/o Rockpoint Community Church, 400 North Haledon Ave., North Haledon, NJ 07508.

So sorry for your sudden loss. Mike will be missed dearly. I'll never forget his smile, his laugh and his concise and heartfelt prayers. We'll all miss him, but take solace and even envy knowing he was saved, is at peace and in Gods kingdom.
