Obituary for Michael Metje
Michael Metje, 40, of Oakland, New Jersey, passed away on September 11, 2020.
Michael was born to Lorraine and Geoffrey Metje. He spent his childhood and young adult years growing up in New Milford. One of his favorite pastimes was reminiscing on playing football, where he had created lifelong bonds and memories. Those friendships he would cherish forever. He went on to become a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union #164, where union friends became his brothers. Michael married Tatiana, he was most proud of becoming a husband to Tatiana and a father to his three sons Derek, Matthew, and Luke. It was clear, seeing the happiness their joy brought him, that he loved being their father more than anything else.
Michael is predeceased by his mother Lorraine Metje.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Tatiana; sons Derek, Matthew, Luke; brother Geoff; sister Stacey; nieces and nephews Emily, Gianna, Paige, Gabby, Christian, Mateo, Nina; father Geoff.
Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The Metje Family will receive family and friends at the Vander Plaat Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, New Jersey on Friday, September 18th, from 4-8 pm.
