Obituary

Obituary for Matilda Kurzynski (Doherty)

Tillie was born on December 16, 1934 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland to parents, Mary Jane and Michael Doherty, one of six children. She followed her sisters to the United States in 1958, where she fell in love and married Charles (Chuck) Kurzynski. Tillie and Chuck were married for over 50 years and they happily raised their two children in Haledon, NJ. They retired to their little paradise on Osborn Island, NJ in 1992 to enjoy the sun, sand and Atlantic City slots.
Tillie found much joy during her retirement years working as a teacher's aide in the Tuckerton school system. After Chuck passed in 2001, she moved to be closer to her family / friends and found a new teacher's aide job in the Hanover school system.

Tillie will be lovingly remembered by her two children Michael (Maureen), Karen (Dan); her five grandchildren, Ariana, Maxwell, Tyler, Alexis and Michael. Tillie's five siblings; Jim Doherty, Noel Doherty. She was preceded by her sisters, Marie Moul, Elaine Duck and brother, Michael Doherty.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, May 29th 12:00 noon with visitation prior from 10am to 12.

The Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ

Tillie you will be missed. As a child I remember visiting your home with my parents. When I married in 1988 both my wife and I visited the Bogside in Northern Ireland and spoke with your parents. You and Chuck were gracious hosts and although we lost touch I thought of you over the years. Rest In Peace Tillie and hug my Dad for me.
