Obituary for Mary Jo Kurtz (Dougherty)

KURTZ, Mary Jo (nee Dougherty) – 69, of Franklin Lakes passed away on January 9, 2019. Born in Painesville, Ohio she lived in Wyckoff before moving to Franklin Lakes in 1999. A graduate of Villa Angela Academy in Cleveland and Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, she taught high school for several years.

Mary Jo began her career as Director of Community Relations at the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff, she was then an Administrator at Van Dyk Health Care in Ridgewood for 27 years. She then owned and operated Elderful Family Solutions before becoming an Administrator at Care One Health Care of Paramus. She was currently an Administrator of the Ascend Concierge in Paramus.

Beloved wife of Douglas Kurtz of Franklin Lakes. Devoted mother of Anne Marie Kosar of Stratford, CT. Cherished daughter of the late J. Russell and Margaret M. (nee Parks) Dougherty. Loving sister of Sheila Day and Paul D. Dougherty.
Dear aunt of Russell J. Day and his wife Diana and grand-aunt of Henry R. Day.
She is also survived by several loving cousins.

The family will receive family and friends on Monday from 4-7 pm followed by a 7 pm service at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. Interment All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
