Obituary for Mario D'Andrea
D’ANDREA, Mario “Chick” - of North Haledon peacefully left us on December 30, 2018. Mario was born in Paterson and later moved to North Haledon where he lived for 53 years. He was the owner/operator of several businesses including Chick’s Park Side Gulf Station and J&M Amoco, and Sound & Music Record Center and North Haledon Video of North Haledon. He was also co-owner of North Haledon Audio & Video and Danco Party Rentals with his son Glenn.
Mario was a man of love, wisdom, respect, laughter, and adventure, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than being with his family. He is predeceased by his parents Dominic & Rosa (née DeCesare) D’Andrea and 12 siblings. Mario is the beloved husband of Rosalyn (née Corvo) D’Andrea for 64 years, having known each other since the 3rd grade. He is the devoted father of Lynda Clar & her husband Steven of Annandale, Terry Audino & her husband Frank of North Haledon, and Glenn Mario & his wife Cheryl of North Haledon. He is the loving grandfather (Poppie/Poppy) of Steven & Daryl Mario Clar, Traci & Michael Audino, and Christina D’Andrea. He always went the extra mile to ensure all of them knew they were deeply and unconditionally loved, supported, and treasured. His unwavering presence in all of their lives is incredibly cherished and will live on in their hearts, always and forever.
The family will receive friends at the Vander Plaat - Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be private.
