HAUSMAN, Maria Barbara (Chanowicz), 96, of Franklin Lakes, passed away at home with her
family by her side on Friday, November 12, 2021. Born in Suwalki, Poland to Nicholas and Paula (formerly Saunders) Chanowicz, she and her family came to the United States in 1960 and settled in Franklin Lakes.
Maria was predeceased by her beloved husband John Janusz in 2016. She was a dedicated
parishioner at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Franklin Lakes. Maria was the Office Manager for the Long Hill Medical Group for 10 years. She was active for 40 years as
a member of Little Sisters of the Poor Leadership in Totowa. She devoted much time and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars toward their mission of serving the elderly poor in the community and ensuring they have a home where they will be welcomed in Christ and cared for as family, embracing ALL with open arms. Maria was a loving, devoted mother to her three sons, and
was very involved in their lives, and in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by her loving children Richard John and his late wife Veronica Rose, the late Thomas
Christopher and his wife Susan Marie, and Paul Andrew and his wife Justina Marie. Devoted
grandmother to Jessica Vanessa (wife of Anthony Michael Ramakis), James John, Emily Patricia (wife of Daniel Kevin Wishart), Alexandra Marie (wife of James Joseph Wellemeyer), Kristiana Ashley (wife of Tyler Frank Thaler) and Victoria Arielle.
Loving great-grandmother to Henry Raymond, Vanessa Carol, Lucy Susan, Samuel Daniel, Lila Tobin, Blake Ryan, Devin Reece and Calvin James.
Maria also leaves behind her loving brother Jacob Chanow.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual
