Dean, Margaret Ann (nee Doheny) 80, of Flanders and formerly of North Haledon passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. She was born in Paterson to Joseph and Mae (Erlewein) Doheny on October 18, 1940. She was a long time North Haledon resident before moving to Florida for several years. She then moved back to NJ to be with family in the last two years. Margaret was the owner of Magic Castle Nursery School in Haledon prior to her retirement.
Margaret was pre-deceased by her late husband Brian Dean, Sr. in 2008. She is survived by her loving children, Michael Dean of Oakland, Brian Dean Jr. of Haskell, Daniel Dean of Sparta, James Dean of Rockaway, Deborah Hyland of Englewood, FL, Diane Scarano of Flanders, and Leighann Spinosa of Hackettown. Margaret also leaves behind her cherished 19 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 – 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 5 at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral service to follow at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
