Obituary for Louise Nocenti (Norante)

MAHWAH – Louise Nocenti (nee Norante), 89, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2018. Louse was born on May 11, 1929 and grew up in Rahway, New Jersey. She graduated from the Rutgers College of Pharmacyand initially worked as a pharmacist in New Brunswick, where she met and fell in love with her future husband, Mero Nocenti. They were married on February 5, 1955 and lived briefly in Hackensack and Oakland, and then spent more than 45 years in Franklin Lakes before moving to Mahwah several years ago.

Louise worked for many years in the Franklin Lakes Pharmacy, Sicomac Pharmacy and other local pharmacies, and has many dear friends from her professional career. Louise and Mero also spent many hours volunteering, including at St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly in Totowa, and Eva’s Kitchen in Paterson.

Louise is survived by her loving husband Mero and their three children – Mary Ochadlik (Thomas Christiansen), Ann Nocenti and David Nocenti (Andrea Shapiro Davis); her sister Genevieve Norante and brother John Norante; her three grandchildren Roxanne Ochadlik (Dakota Martin), Gina Pavlakos and Sonja Ochadlik (Johnny McDonnell); her great grandson Levi Martin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Louise was predeceased by her brother Nicholas Norante.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Franklin Lakes.
