Obituary for Lois A. De Young (Vanderspiegel)
DE YOUNG, Lois A. (Vanderspiegel), age 86 of North Haledon, passed away on February 1, 2022. She was born in North Haledon to Louis and Martha (Brustlin) Vanderspiegel on September 18, 1935, and has been a lifelong resident of North Haledon, where they raised their 3 children. Lois was predeceased by her loving husband William De Young in 1995. Before her retirement in 2016, Lois worked in the food industry. She worked as a cook at Abma’s Farm Market in Wyckoff, and also worked in the kitchen at the Tides Estate in North Haledon. Lois enjoyed gardening and crafts like wood working projects and painting. She enjoyed travelling and loved animals, especially her dog, Obie.
Devoted mother to William DeYoung and his wife Luann of North Haledon, Susan Shea and her husband Harry of CT, and Sandra Drake and her husband David also of CT. Lois is predeceased by her brother Louis, but survived by his family; sister-in-law Janet Vanderspiegel of Howell, NJ, and a niece Sheri Vanderspiegel and her husband Chris Wooley of Jackson, NJ, and a nephew Louis Vanderspiegel and his wife Elise, and their children Logan and Tessa of Howell, NJ.
