Obituary for Leon Choate

CHOATE, Leon, Jr, 80 of New York City, passed away peacefully on March 19,
2021. Born in The Bronx in 1940, Leon lived in Franklin Lakes for 27 years before moving to New York CIty in 2002.
Leon spent the majority of his legal career as a partner at Putney Twombley, prior to founding Choate and Seletski upon his retirement.

Leon was a proud and active member of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City. In his time, he sat on the board of The New York City Rescue Mission, The Stetson University School of Business, Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. Leon attended George Washington University, held a JD from New York University, and MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

He loved the New York Yankees, attending the theater, New York City, his granddaughters and travel. Leon saw the world, having touched down in 194 foreign lands.

A celebration of Leon’s life will be held at a later date.
