Lawrence “Larry” M. Rota, 71, of North Haledon left for heaven on January 8, 2022. Son of Lawrence Micahel Rota of Paterson, NJ and Carmella DeAngelo Rota of Greenwich, CT. Larry was Born in Paterson NJ. Larry had lived in Franklin Lakes for 34 years before moving to North Haledon 5 years ago. He was a self-employed builder and was currently the owner of North American Remodeling and Design Inc. He was a Ramapo Wildcat soccer coach for both of his daughter’s soccer teams for many years, a former member of the Franklin Lakes Lions Club, and was a past Vice President of the club as well. He enjoyed raising and racing pigeons and was also president of the local racing organization. He was an incredible family man, loved his grandchildren deeply and was frequently referred to as “Super Pop-Pop.”

Beloved husband of Tara (Murray) Rota of North Haledon. Devoted father of Lauren Rota and her husband Marco Olivera of Franklin Lakes and Larissa Thomas and her husband Taylor of Wyckoff. He was the loving grandfather of Maxim, Lawrence, Leo, Emma, Vivienne and Michael. Dear brother of Patricia Rota Newman and Joseph Rota.

The family will receive friends at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 10:30 AM with interment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Larry’s memory to the St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
