ANDERSEN, Kenneth A., age 75, of Hawthorne, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Kenneth was born in Brooklyn, NY to Lester and Thelma (Jensen) Andersen. After graduating from high school, Kenneth served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life Danette D’Amelio in May 1975 and together they raised their two children. Kenneth worked as an iron worker for Burgess Steel in Englewood before his retirement in 2012. He was a proud member of the VFW #5635 in Lackawaxen, PA.

Loving husband of Danette Andersen with whom he spent 48 years of loving and loyal marriage together. Beloved father of Jason Andersen and his wife Kellie, and Keith Andersen and his wife Heather. Devoted and loving grandfather of Nola, Finn, Sawyer, and Emmett. Loving brother to Robert Andersen and his wife Debbie. He was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Thelma Andersen, siblings Ralph Andersen and his wife Margaret, and Eleanor and her husband Robert. Kenneth is survived by 11 nieces and nephews, and 14 great nieces and nephews. Family meant so much to Kenneth, and he will be greatly missed by so many.

Family and friends may visit the Andersen family on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 4 PM – 8 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 11 AM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
