Obituary for Joseph Salvatore Arminio

ARMINIO, Joseph, age 92, of North Haledon, and formerly of Bellville, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. He has been a resident of North Haledon for 44 years. He was born in Newark, NJ to Joseph and Rose (Severini) Arminio. After graduating high school, Joseph entered the US Army, and served his country proudly during the Korean War. Before his retirement in 2000, Joseph was the General Manager at Lionetti-Metro Fuel in North Bergen. Joseph was an active parishioner of St. Paul’s RC Church in Prospect Park. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, as well as being a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Men of God Organization at St. Paul’s. He was active in the Fuel Merchants Association of NJ and was also a Gold Seal member. Above all of Joseph’s hobbies and talents, family was what meant the most to Joseph. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife, Carmela (Baldino) Arminio in 2013. They shared 62 years of loving marriage together. Devoted father of Rosemary Lotruglio and her husband Joseph of Andover, Carol Ann Arminio of Las Vegas, NV, and Diane Arminio of North Haledon. He was predeceased by his son, Pastor Joseph Arminio. He also leaves behind his loving daughter-in-law, Debbi Arminio, and his loving sister, May Pennetta. Beloved grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit the Arminio family on Sunday, March 26, 2023, from 2-7 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral mass to be held Monday, March 27, 2023, at 10 AM at St. Paul’s RC Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
