Obituary

John Meditz, 81 on April 2, 2020 of Franklin Lakes, NJ. John was born in Ridgewood Queens, NY where he lived until 1968 when he moved to Franklin Lakes. He served in the US Army during the Berlin Crisis. John graduated from the Brooklyn Poly Tech Institute, a division of NYU, in New York. Prior to his retirement in 2000 he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Enzinger Manufacturing Company of Hawthorne, NJ. For many years John attended Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church of Franklin Lakes, NJ.

John loved his wife Barbara (Ruddy) who he met over 63 years ago and was devoted to her for the 59 years they were married. Beloved father of Susan Teschon and her husband Wayne of Franklin Lakes, Gregory Meditz of Rutherford and Barbara Beucler and her husband Devin of Franklin Lakes. Loving grandfather to Jacqueline, Sarah, Jonathan and Katherine. Also survived by his sister Agnes Hay of Pennsylvania.

Arrangements by the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all services will be held privately by the family. Any future services will be posted at a later date.

It was with sadness that I recently received notification of your husband and our valued alumnus John Meditz's passing. I am writing to extend my deepest sympathy on behalf of the New York University Tandon School of Engineering and the Polytechnic Alumni Association.
He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. Again, please accept my condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.
