John Y. Bleeker passed away peacefully Monday, January 31 2022, at the age of 95 at the Christian Health Care Center where he resided for the last 9 years with family by his side. Formerly of Glen Rock and North Haledon. Married to and raised his three children with Hazel Bley deceased and later married to Kathleen Cruzen deceased. Survived by his children Karen Kopcha and husband Steven, John R Bleeker and wife Sally, and Thomas A Bleeker. Also survived by his six grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. John was a long time employee of Curtis Wright Corp. A member of the Glen Rock A.C. Club and Glen Rock Seniors. An only child, John was raised by his mother Lena after the loss of his father at a young age. John was never one to raise his voice, always cheerful and supportive to all, especially the staff and fellow residents at CHCC. He will be remembered for his cheerful demeanor and his line "I couda been a contender" to all. Cremation is private. He will be interned with his parents at a later date with a private family service.
