Mc KENNA, Joan (Grafer), age 84, of Ringwood, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born in The Bronx, NY to William and Theresa (Langan) Grafer. She has resided in Ringwood for 55 years, after moving from The Bronx. Joan married the love of her life, Robert (Bobby) McKenna in 1959 and they moved to Ringwood 8 years later. Before her retirement, Joan was the secretary to the Superintendent of schools in Ringwood. Before that she worked as a secretary for a clothing designer inside the Empire State Building. Joan was a long-time parishioner of St. Catherine’s of Bologna in Ringwood. She loved to travel, especially cruising to various beautiful locations with her husband and traveling companion through life, Bobby. Above all, Joan cherished her family. Times spent with them made for many great memories.

Joan was predeceased by husband, Robert J. McKenna, brother, Donald Grafer and nephew, Donald E. Grafer both of Ocean Pines, MD.

Joan leaves behind her beloved daughter Maureen Harris and son-in-law John of Wanaque. She also leaves her loving grandchildren Kathryn and Jennifer Harris, and cherished brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack McKenna, and Susan Koski-Grafer.

Family and friends may visit the McKenna family on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 4-7 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral mass to be held on Saturday, December 10 at 10 AM at St. Catherine of Bologna Catholic Parish, 112 Erskine Road, Ringwood. Interment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.
