Jessie Martin (nee Van Althuis), 88, of Mahwah, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 11, 2020. Born in Clifton, New Jersey, Jessie lived in Upper Saddle River before moving to Mahwah in 1998. Jessie was an active member of Irving Park Christian Reformed Church, and later of Pompton Plains Reformed Bible Church. As an alumna and later as a parent, she was a devoted supporter of Eastern Christian Schools. She also served as an EC bus driver for many years. Along with her husband, Jessie participated in disaster-relief mission trips to Florida, Manitoba, Dominican Republic and Haiti. She was a skilled seamstress and baker, regularly using these gifts to bless others.

Jessie is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, William John Martin.
She is the beloved mother of Jean Lindsay and her husband Allen of Wyckoff, Joanne Kukol and her husband
Michael of Franklin Lakes, Wilma Wiersma and her husband David of Denver, CO, and Steven Martin and his wife Nancy of Wanaque.
Loving grandmother to Allison Lindsay, Kimberly (Erik) Brown, Kristen Lindsay, Dana Kukol, Brian (Hope) Kukol,
Shawn Kukol, Adam Kukol, Joshua Wiersma, Lauren (David)Byma, Catherine Wiersma, Rebecca Martin, and Luke Martin. She also was a proud great-grandmother to Alexander Brown and Evelyn Brown.
Jessie was the dear sister of Trina De Roo of Sussex, Lois Lyman of North Haledon, Edward Van Althuis of Sherburne, NY, the late Ruth De Boer and William Van Althuis.

A private funeral ceremony will be held at Pompton Plains Reformed Bible Church on Thursday, October 15. Guests are invited to participate by way of Livestream and leave their comments and remembrances on that platform.Interment at Redeemer Cemetery, Mahwah. (There will be no visitation.)
