PERKOVIC, Jerka, (Grgas) 88, of North Haledon, passed away on January 1, 2022, just one day shy of her 89th birthday. She was born in Zablace, Croatia to Dunko and Jerka (Cibola) Grgas. She came to the U.S. in 1977 and was formerly of Palisades Park before moving to North Haledon. Jerka was predeceased by her husband Ante Perkovic. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. She was loved by all who knew her. Jerka loved knitting, and before her retirement she worked as a knitting separator. Jerka also loved to be out in her garden, tending to her flowers and plants.

Loving mother of Jerka “Jeri” Powell and her husband Gary of North Haledon, and of Rosanda Cvetinic and her husband George of Vancouver, BC. She was predeceased by her grandson Frank Powell in March of 2021. Adoring grandmother of Christyna MacKinnon, and great grandmother to Alexander and Danielle MacKinnon. Jerka also leaves behind her brother-in-law Sime Perkovic of Australia.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 9 -10:30 AM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral service to be held immediately following the visiting hours at the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jerka’s memory to the Rockaway Animal Hospital, 328 US-46, Rockaway, NJ 07866.
