Obituary for Jeannette Andre (Guldeman)

Jeannette Andre, 99, of North Haledon on October 2, 2020. Jeannette was born in Paterson and was a lifelong resident of North Haledon. She was a seamstress and worked for Manhattan Shirt and Brooks Brothers before owning her own business, Nanette’s Interiors, of North Haledon until the mid-60’s. She worked at Ridgewood Awning and prior to her retirement worked as a cashier for the Market Basket in Wyckoff. Jeannette was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Franklin Lakes and St Elizabeth RC Church of Wyckoff.

She was the beloved wife of the late Earl Andre. Dear mother of Phyllis Chernalis and husband Tony of Wyckoff. Loving grandmother of Mark Chernalis (Cathie), Susan Buchanan (David) and Nancy (Kevin) DenBlaker. Great Grandmother of Zachary, Lexie, Max (Alyson), Nick, Caitlin, Jake, Cole, Lucy, Nicholas and Mikalynn.

GG/Nettie was a sweet woman who lived well and loved well and shared all what grace and humility look like. She loved her family, her cousins, her neighbors and her many co-workers at the Market Basket. Most of all she loved her great grandchildren with her whole heart and never missed an opportunity to be with them. Her legacy will live on. She truly lived by the Greatest Commandments “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” and to “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Friends and family may visit at the Vander Plaat Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Rd, Franklin Lakes, NJ Monday from 4-7PM. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday at St. Elizabeth RC Church in Wyckoff at 10AM. Interment will be at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa, NJ.
