George J. Roberts of Venice, Florida, previously of Pompton Plains, New Jersey, died peacefully in his sleep on July 5, 2021 at HarborChase Skilled Nursing Facility.

George was born on March 2, 1935 to Morris and Agnes Roberts in Brooklyn, New York. After schooling, George became a draftsman and married the love of his life, Marie Gagliardi on May 4, 1957. After being wed, George and Marie lived in Brooklyn, and then moved to Pompton Plains, New Jersey, where George worked as a draftsman for B.F. Goodrich for more than 40 years while raising his two daughters, Lori and Cindy. After his wife Marie’s passing in 1999, George remained living in Pompton Plains with his daughter Cindy and son-in-law, Michael, until they moved to Florida in 2018. While living in Florida, George enjoyed the constant warmth and sunny weather.

George was a man with a wonderful sense of humor and the kindest heart, always joking around with his loved ones. Most importantly, he was committed to his family with love, laughter, and patience. George’s favorite things were spending time outdoors, fishing, and being surrounded by his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and grandfather, and has gifted all who knew him with amazing memories that will be cherished forever.

A loving father and grandfather, George is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Michael Fahey of Nokomis, Florida; his daughter Lori Hart of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey; his brother Allen Roberts and wife Julie of Norwood, New Jersey; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dr. S. Victor and Roberta Falcone of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his grandchildren Hayley Fahey of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Mary Fahey of Tampa, Florida, Taylor Hart of Pompton Plains, New Jersey, and Matthew Hart of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. George is predeceased by his wife Marie, his parents Morris and Agnes Roberts, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Peter and Theresa Amendola.
