Obituary for George Oscar Martinez
George Oscar Martinez, age 72, of North Haledon, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023. George was born in the Dominican Republic to Oscar Perallon and Gregoria Martinez. He moved to the United States in 1979 and resided in Passaic for nearly three decades before moving to North Haledon. Prior to his retirement, George was a machinist for Melard Manufacturing Corporation in Passaic.
Loving father to his daughter Iris and her husband Jonatan. Beloved grandfather to Catherine Grace. He also leaves behind two brothers and four sisters. Family meant so much to George. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was always kind and helped those around him. His smile and humor made any heart happy. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends may visit the Martinez family on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral service to be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Redeemer Cemetery, Mahwah.
