Funny how you remember things. George Berger my gym teacher ages ago said the worst word in the English Language was "Assume" he always said that "when you assume you make an a_ _ out of you and me. You can make an a_ _ out of you but not me!" He was great a memorable figure in my past . RIP Coach Berger!

Dear Berger Family, I’m truly sorry to hear about George’s Passing....... “Coach Berger” will always hold a special place in my heart .... as does his family! George greeted me every day with a joke! I learned so very much from him..... his family..... has always been so very kind to me...... I left for my very first cruise on Feb. 16th & was at sea for a week.... I’m still in Tamara FL now but shall return home soon..... Lois, Susan & family & David & family......... from myself & my daughter, Hayley Elizabeth Doren, we sent our heartfelt condolences to a truly GREAT Man! George was filled with lots of kindness & humor ! I’m so sorry I wasn’t in Franklin Lakes.....to pay my respects. I started my career with George. The Berger family took me in.... embraced me....and gave me dinner, a shower & a safe harbor for my 1-3 BTS nights ...... He shall be remembered fondly! God Bless.

Truly a sad day. To this day I feel deeply privileged to have played on his team. He taught us teamwork, honor, respect, oh and basketball. In my life I have known very few people like coach Berger. Rest in Peace
