Obituary for Gabriella Rose "Kam" Marvin

MARVIN, Gabriella Rose (Kam), age 17, of Wyckoff, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 21, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with health issues for the past 12 years. It was only as of 3 weeks ago that she was diagnosed with MNGIE at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a mitochondrial disorder that attacked her body. She fought an incredible battle with strength and determination like no other. Gabby was born in Ridgewood, NJ to Gregory Marvin and Christine (Baker) Marvin and grew up in Wyckoff. She was a lover of all animals, art, and music.

Gabby will be missed every day by her mother Christine (Baker) Marvin of Wyckoff, her father Gregory Marvin of Mahwah, her brother Kyle Figula and sister Samantha Marvin, her grandparents Jack and Linda Baker of Millsboro, DE, formerly Wyckoff, and Michael and Barbara Marvin of Norwood. Loving niece of Steven and Annelies Baker, and Michael and Sandra Marvin. She also leaves behind her cousins, Steven and Zachary Baker, and Mack and Shannon Marvin. Gabby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. When you think of Gabby, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember her infectious smile, her laugh, and caring personality.

Family and friends may visit the Marvin family on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 10 AM at the funeral home.

Gabby’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to the healthcare professionals at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for their care and commitment for Gabby over the past 10 weeks.
