Obituary for Florence L. Steinbach (Welter)

Florence L. (Welter) Steinbach, 98, went home to be with her Lord on November 15, 2020. Born in Newark, NJ, Florence lived in Springfield, NJ and Barnegat before recently moving to Hawthorne. Prior to her retirement in 1982, she was a secretary for Magla Corporation of Irvington, NJ. Florence was a long time member of Crossroads Christian Fellowship in Union and latter Bayside Chapel in Barnegat, NJ. In her youth Florence attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Irvington. From the time she was ten she was a part of the Pioneers Club. She continued to meet with these women for over 80 years. Faithful to the end, she regular participated in weekly Bible studies.

Florence was the beloved wife of the late Carl Steinbach (2000). Devoted mother of Richard Steinbach and his wife Eleanor of South Carolina and Virginia Prairie and her husband Robert of Butler. Loving grandmother of Timothy Prairie, Gregory Prairie, Jason Steinbach, Mark Steinbach, Luke Steinbach, Marvin and Tamara Coleman, Melanie and Brad Gauger, Ethan Steinbach, Thomas Steinbach, Noah Steinbach, and Damien Steinbach. She was also survived by fourteen great grandchildren who were the joy of her latter years.

Family and friends may visit at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 10 – 11AM. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment at Hollywood Memorial Cemetery, Union NJ.
