Obituary for Ellen Balfour (Kunis)
BALFOUR, Ellen (nee Kunis) – 87, of Wyckoff passed away on December 9, 2018.
Born in Paterson she was a long time resident of North Haledon before moving to Wyckoff 20 years ago.
Ellen was a life long member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church in North Haledon, formerly known as the 3rd Christian Reformed Church in Paterson where she sang in their choir, taught Sunday School and was superintendent. She also volunteered for the Eastern Christian Booster Club.
Beloved wife of the late Alexander Balfour (1965).
Devoted mother of Judy Dykstra and her husband Doug of Fair Lawn and the late Doug Balfour (2015).
Loving grandmother of Brad Dykstra, Tracey Dykstra and Jamie Martinez and her husband Bryant and great-grandmother of Bradley Labeur.
Dear sister of Betty Gower of Hawthorne.
The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday from 4-8 pm at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
Funeral Services Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home.
Interment Fair Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Ellen’s memory to Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
