Obituary for Edward Greendyk
Edward (Eddie) Greendyk, 58, of Wayne NJ passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023. Born in Paterson, he was a lifelong resident of Prospect Park before moving to a Group Home in Passaic and then a Group Home in Wayne. He was a baptized member of the Ebenezer Netherlands Reformed Church in Franklin Lakes.
He was a beloved son of Nicholas (deceased 2010) and Augusta Greendyk, and a special brother of John of Vernon, Leonard and his wife Marianne of Yucca Valley, CA, Audrey Malec and her husband Edward of Wayne, Nicholas and his wife Laurel of Hampton, Thomas and his wife Maria of Lansdowne, PA, Robert of Portland, OR, David and his wife Judy of North Haledon, William and his wife Marlene of Grand Rapids, MI, Alida of Hardwick, Paul and his wife Ellen of Pompton Plains, and Alan and his wife Sandra of Charlotte, NC. Edward is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Tuesday March 14, 10:00 AM at the Ebenezer Netherlands Reformed Church, 875 Ewing Ave., Franklin Lakes, NJ. Interment Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday. March 13, from 4 – 7:30 PM at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Edward’s memory to The Arc of Bergen and Passaic, 223 Moore Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601 or the Netherlands Reformed Christian School, 164 Jacksonville Road, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444.
