Obituary for Dorothy M. Earnshaw (Hunt)

EARNSHAW, Dorothy M. – 86, of Haskell passed away on September 3, 2018. Born in Paterson she previously lived in North Haledon and West Milford. She was a former member of Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church.

Beloved wife of the late Edward Earnshaw (1998) and the late Ralph R. Young (1987). Dorothy is pre-deceased by brothers; John and Edward W. Hunt and sister, Ethel Peters.

She is survived by her stepchildren, William Earnshaw of North Haledon and Pat Connell of Florida, and their four children.

“Aunt Dot”, as she was lovingly known by her 8 surviving nephews and niece, grew up in Prospect Park, and graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1950. She worked as a book keeper. An avid bowler, Dot was involved in many leagues over the years, and often served as secretary. In later years she enjoyed going with her friends to national tournaments in other parts of the country.

Dot enjoyed watching television, knitting, plastic canvas projects, and spending time with friends and family. Dot was a pianist and organist, who often played in church and for church choirs. She was a committed Christian.

A Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 14th at 11 am at Christ Episcopal Church, 400 Ramapo Avenue, Pompton Lakes, NJ.
