Donald Wesley Kuiken, 77, on January 2, 2021 of Monsey, New York. Born in Paterson, Donald had lived in Fair Lawn before moving to Monsey NY about 30 years ago. Donald served in the Marines in the early 1960’s. After his service in the Marines he became a policeman for the Paterson Police Department. At the time of his death he was a superintendent with Valley View Co-Op in Spring Valley, New York, where he was made to feel like family by many of the residents. Donald was a member of the Faith Community Christian Reformed Church of Wyckoff, NJ.
Don enjoyed golfing with his brothers, playing the trumpet in church, and fishing. In his younger days Don enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball in the Paterson Industrial Softball League.
Beloved father of Kimberly Jane Nestor and Susan Mary Kuiken. Loving grandfather of Grace, Jillian, Liam and Lucy. Brother of Sherrill Windeler of Florida, Robert W. Kuiken of Speculator, NY, Arlene Vander Weert of Florida, Richard M. Kuiken of Nebraska, Diane Bosloper of Hawthorne, and Dennis Kuiken of Wyckoff.
A private graveside service will be held at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Donald’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
