DOUGHERTY, Donald E., age 95, of Toms River, and formerly of North Haledon and Dingmans Ferry, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. He was born in Paterson, NJ to Frank and Alice (Roussell) Dougherty. After graduating high school and attending college, Donald served his country proudly in the US Navy. He was stationed on the aircraft carrier the USS Princeton during WW II. Before his retirement, Donald was an independent auto mechanic.

Donald was predeceased by his loving wife, June Dougherty (Beyrer). Devoted father of Glen Dougherty of Toms River. Beloved grandfather of Lorrie and Kelly Dougherty.

Family and friends may visit the Dougherty family on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 11 AM – 12 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral service to be held immediately following visitation at the funeral home at 12 PM. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
