Obituary for Diva Muller (Martini)

MULLER, Diva (Martini) age 88, of Franklin Lakes, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022. Formerly of Jersey City, Lyndhurst, and Glen Rock, she was a resident of Franklin Lakes for the past 50 years. Diva was born in Supino, Italy to Domenico and Maria (Bonanni) Martini. She and her husband, Jim, were blessed with 5 daughters. Diva was a loving wife and mother and a friend to many. Diva’s presence was known by the intentional care she gave to every person in her life and by the subtle arrival of a bright red convertible. She and her family were active members of Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church in Franklin Lakes. The family enjoyed many years of memory making at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes and North Jersey Whiz Skiers in Mad River Glen. Diva was an organizer and a leader supporting the Little Sisters of the Poor, the Salesian Sisters, and many a school over the years. Diva loved to play bridge with her neighborhood friends and the Valley Hospital Auxiliary. She loved tennis and paddle and socializing at “the Club”. But, the greatest love of Diva’s life was her family.

Diva was predeceased by her beloved husband, James H. Muller, with whom she enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage. She leaves behind her loving daughters and their families, Lisa Munoz (Hector), Caroline Cooley (Jim), Judy Cobourn (Bill), Pamela Swartzberg (Mark), and Valerie Torkelson (Christopher). Devoted grandmother to Paul (Mackenzie), Bridget, Amy, Kayla (Brian), Kelsey, James, Christina, Anna, Allyson, Peter, Matthew, Mary, Joshua, Joseph, JP, Lucy, Eric, and Katy. Diva also leaves behind her loving sister, Lina Dreyman, and was predeceased by her sister Fernanda Geramita.

Friends and family may visit the Muller family on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 4-8 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral mass to be held on Saturday, May 7 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 25 Purdue Ave, Oakland, NJ. Interment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery.
