Obituary for Diane Mol-Tanis (Smith)
Diane Mol-Tanis, 73, of Bloomingdale went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 1, 2021. Born in Paterson, Diane had lived in Hawthorne until moving to Bloomingdale 8 years ago. Before her retirement in 2013 Diane was a mortgage processor for Valley National Bank of Wayne, NJ. She attended Pompton Plains Reformed Bible Church and was a member of Bridgeway Community Church of Haledon, NJ. She loved walking and singing. She also volunteered her time at Eastern Christian’s Resale Shop Ditto and the Midwest Food Bank during the winter months in Fort Myers, Florida.
Diane was the devoted wife of the Late Henry (Hank) Mol and was the beloved wife of John Tanis of Bloomingdale. Dear mother of Brian Mol and his wife Rhonda of Hawthorne and Colene Cooper and her husband Christopher of Succasunna, NJ. Stepmother of John Tanis and his wife Laurie of Midland Park, Lois LoSacco and her husband Lenny of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Linda Van Grouw and her husband Brian of Oakland, Karen Sanders and her husband James of Wyckoff and Patricia Hagedoorn and her husband Henry of Midland Park. Loving grandmother of Jayden, Dylan and Madison Cooper. Step-grandmother of Brad and Katie Tanis, Shawn Tanis, Joshua and Kate Tanis, Kelly and Josh Groenewal, Gregory (1988-2018), Joseph and Michael Carson, Tyler and Nicholas LoSacco, Justin Van Grouw and fiancé Michelle, Ryan Van Grouw and fiancé Amanda, Matthew Van Grouw and fiancé Jessica, Mark, Brandon and Aleah Sanders, Emma, Noah and Hank Hagedoorn. Sister of Lois Knorr and Dean and Lois Smith. Sister-in-law of Phil and Sharon Mol, Connie Mol, Cindy and Sam Ardolino and Maryanne and Steve Vahalla.
The Tanis family will receive family and friends at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ on Wednesday 4-7 PM. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at the Bridgeway Community Church, 381 Haledon Ave, Haledon, NJ at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Cemetery, Totowa, NJ
