ZUIDEMA, David Matthew, 51, of North Haledon, went to be with his Lord on April 25, 2021. Born in Paterson on August 15, 1969 to William H. and Joyce Zuidema (nee Klapmust), he lived in North Haledon his whole life. David worked in government and mission-focused nonprofits throughout his career. When his children were born he became a stay-at-home dad and developed a freelance career in writing, digital design and technology support. David had a special gift of making people laugh and think deeply. He was an avid reader of the Bible. He had a passion to serve the church and the community, and taught Sunday School and Bible studies for many years. He loved his brothers in The New Canaan Society. David attended Emergence Church in Totowa and was a former member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church where he served as a Deacon and narrated many Live Nativity productions. Most important to him was serving his faithful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and learning to live his faith authentically.
