VEENSTRA, Carolyn (Van Til), 86, of North Haledon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2021. She was born in Paterson on August 13, 1935, to Sidney and Henrietta (Weiringa) Van Til. Formerly of Hawthorne, Carolyn moved to the Holland Christian Home 6 years ago. Before her retirement in 2000, Carolyn was a teacher and librarian at Eastern Christian High School in North Haledon. Carolyn was a devoted and active member of Unity Christian Reformed Church for many years. She was also a Community Bible Study leader at Midland Park CRC. She stayed very active both at church, and at the Holland Home. Carolyn was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Roger Veenstra, who predeceased her in 2018. Carolyn cherished her family, and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She will be dearly missed by so many.

Carolyn leaves behind her adoring children, Susan Vanden Brink and her husband Lloyd of Michigan, Sandra Brauning and her husband Stephen of the Dominican Republic, Randall Veenstra and his wife Lynn of North Haledon, Rodney Veenstra and his wife Margaret of Virginia, and Luanne Goslinga and her husband David of Iowa. She was the devoted grandmother of 18 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Carolyn also leaves behind her brother Kenneth Van Til of Florida, her sister Shirley Faber of Mahwah, and her brother David Van Til of California.

The Veenstra family will receive family and friends at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 5 – 8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 29 at the funeral home at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
