MELONE, Carol (Gado), age 80, of North Haledon, formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on Saturday, April 8th 2023. Carol was born in Paterson to John and Margaret (Heusser) Gado and was a graduate of Hawthorne High School. She worked at many different, interesting jobs, among her favorites being a laboratory technician at Nabisco in Fair Lawn, and Security at Action Park in Vernon. Carol’s numerous interests included golf, fishing, baking, art and bingo.

Carol embraced her role as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and care provider. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas and brother, John, and was the loving mother of Nicholas J. and wife Christine, Michael and wife Cheri, beloved stepmother to Elise and husband Frank, and Angela and husband Ralph, adored sister to Linda, Peter, and Gerald, devoted grandmother to Sean, Sarah, Owen, Trent, Christopher, Lauren, Jennifer and Daniel and six great-grandchildren.

Services in New Jersey will be held privately by the family. Carol will be buried with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
