I am so sad to hear this. This woman meant so very much to me. When I was a teenager, Carmen and her family took me under their wing. I worked for the family, but she treated me like one of her own children. She was like a mom to me. She came to my high school graduation, and on that day, we were all given two roses to hand out to our loved ones. Most everyone gave theirs to their parents. I gave one to my mother, and I gave one to Carmen. She meant that much to me. She took a broken girl, a wilted flower, and she made me into a garden. I loved her so much and I always will.

Heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend, Carmen. When I was thinking about Carmen, I thought about her contagious, her love for others, equally contagious and her zest for life. I look at my engagement ring from my 25th wedding anniversary and I remember it was Carmen who helped us get a beautiful diamond 13 years ago. When I look at my beautiful cross necklace, I remember Carmen, being in cahoots with my husband to surprise me one Valentines Day. Our relationship with Pastor Bill began about 20 years ago because Carmen suggested that we would love them. And we do. Dinners at Sonny and Tonys will never be the same without you, Carmen. You always looked like a teenager and your smile always made me smile. Your trust in the Lord was real and true and meant so much to you and as a result of your faithfulness, it meant so much to others too. Your faith spoke volumes to so many. Now dance with Jesus my sweet friend until we meet again.

Melanie Orshan

To Carmen's beloved family,

My deepest condolences to you for your loss. Carmen was one of the nicest, kindest, and truly fabulous people I have ever met. One of my fondest memories was when she literally gave me the shirt off of her back. I still have that awesome picture of Carmen and Gerry from the 70s when she is wearing the Coke t shirt. What a great couple and what an amazing lady!

Lots of love,
