Obituary for Robert Paine

Robert Paine, 90, of Mahwah, passed away on February 1, 2020 surrounded by his family. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 4-8 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. Funeral Mass at Church of the Presentation RC Church, 271 West Saddle River Road on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:15 AM.

Robert was born in Jersey City to the late Arthur and Charlotte Paine. Founding member of the famous Jersey City Academy Aces and co-author of their popular theme song, he moved to Franklin Lakes where he raised his family before moving to Mahwah in 2013. He served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. Before his retirement in 1995 Robert had a long successful career in sales for the Kimberly Clark Corporation and Rudco Industries, was an avid tennis and bridge player, devoted father and beloved husband of the late Josephine "Jo"Arguelles Paine for 55 years. Robert is survived by Linda Maley and her husband Matthew of Mahwah, Lisa Keyser and her husband Stephan of Mahwah, Robert Paine of Fort Lee and Gregg Paine of Manhattan, NY. Robert will be remembered lovingly by his grandchildren, Julie, Andrew, Emma, Lauren and Christopher. Robert was a former parishioner of the Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church of Franklin Lakes and more recently attended the Church of the Presentation RC Church in Upper Saddle River New Jersey.
